Cracks in nearby houses due to officetel construction… The builder is the main culprit of charter fraud

On the morning of the 5th, a residential area where low-rise villas are concentrated in Juan 2-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon.

A serious 'crack phenomenon' was observed in various places on the outer wall of the 14-generation villa next to Yangji Senior Citizen's Hall.

Because the cracks were covered with concrete, it seemed that someone had deliberately scribbled a 'gray line' on the brown exterior wall.

Cracks were evident on the floor and walls of the building.

The situation was the same in another nearby villa. The floor of the roof of the building was covered with flooring to prevent water leakage.

Residents of this area have lived without any inconvenience even though it is a 30-year-old villa, but they say that problems such as cracks have occurred since the construction of the new officetel started.

A 20-story building was being built at the construction site pointed out by the residents. At one time, the owner of this building was Mr. A (61), the main culprit of a 43 billion won charter scam centered in Michuhol-gu.

However, as Mr. A's company went bankrupt and was recently arrested in a charter fraud case and construction was suspended, it is unclear when the damage restoration promised to residents will be achieved.

According to Michuhol-gu on the 6th, the building, which began construction in June 2019, was built as a complex building with 154 officetels and 40 houses, but after the bankruptcy of Mr. A, the ownership was transferred to a trust company, and the construction was stopped. The completion rate is 95%.

Nearby residents claim that they have suffered great damage, such as cracks on the exterior and interior 오피스타 of the villa due to the new construction of the officetel, and are filing a civil complaint with the district asking for restoration of the building damage.

Mrs. Kim (80, female) said, “The building was cracked at the beginning of the construction, so the contractor said that they would repair it by soldering and repair it later when it was finished. I cannot understand,” he pointed out.

Ms. Jung (74, female), a member of the Senior Citizens’ Party, also said, “I couldn’t open the door of the Senior Citizens’ Center even in midsummer because of the scattering dust.” The officetel building is high, so there is no sunlight and the wind is blocked.”

An official from the district said, “I inquired about the progress of the construction, but there is no answer from the trust company yet.” “The district more info can only play a role in mediating. Depending on what decision the trust company makes, it seems that the damage recovery part will also be decided.”
